Team ALTERNATE came out on top of Copenhagen Games' female tournament following a 2-1 victory against Millenium in the final. The Germany-team had looked well off the pace during the first day, finishing fourth in their group to raise doubts about the level of seriousness with which they had approached the tournament. However, ALTERNATE came out very strongly on Saturday, beating n!faculty and then Crystal-Serv to earn a showdown against Millenium in the final. The French team were without a doubt the surprise package of the competition as they were formed just three weeks, with three former members of 2006 ESWC champion BTB in their ranks.
It was actually Millenium who started out the brighter, winning de_mirage_go 16-11, but then ALTERNATE picked themselves up and proved they were the better side with 16-13 and 16-8 victories on de_nuke_se and de_dust2_se, respectively.
